Tribute & Message From The Family

Larry Walker, born on April 11th 1938 in Dayton, Pennsylvania, could only be described as a "good ol' boy". His voice was a gift to the world and he used it regularly to honor God. He always gave no nonsense good advice when asked, and was always there when needed. Possibly, the most wonderful thing about Larry though, was his heart. Kindness was in his nature and compassion was his gift.
Larry served his country in the air force for 23 years. After retiring he went and worked at Northrop. At the age of 68 he went back to school to become an ordained minister. He said he always felt God was leading him there ever since he was a child. He served as a clergy for hospice, and as an associate pastor at Calvary Road Baptist.
Pastor Larry R Walker Joined his father in heaven on July 24th, 2013. He was met at Heaven's gates by his 1st wife Mildred Walker and his son Jeff Walker. Pastor Walker is survived by his 2nd wife Patricia, his two brothers Rick and Gene, his son Craig and wife Karen, 2 Daughters Terri and Tammy and her husband John, and his Daughter-in-law Denise. Larry has two step-children; Ron and Christina. Larry will also carry on in the hearts of his grandchildren and great grand-children. A viewing will be held at Halley-Olsen-Murphy Palmdale, Ca Sunday August the 4th from 2-4 p.m.. We will be celebrating his life with services on Monday August the 5th at 10 a.m. at First Southern Baptist Church at 603 East Lancaster blvd Lancaster, Ca. followed by a full honors military burial at Riverside National Cemetery. "Words are not adequate to describe Larry and the impact he made on the world he encountered. So I'll simply state our world is much better because we knew him"

Larry was a close friend of my brother Randy who died last October. Larry and his family were neighbors on farms outside Dayton, Pa.; so many memories include Larry, his joyful and easy way with people and his special singing voice.
May he and Randy be riding together again.
